"Between the stimulus and response, there is a space and in that space lies our freedom and power to choose our response. " ...Victor Frankl
The power of mindfulness lies in the ability to chose a wise response in this space.
Anybody can meditate! Yes, anybody!
A regular practice of mindfulness leads to transformation when we learn to not be a victim of our experiences, but rather the observer of our experiences. Studies show that a regular meditation routine can:
- Help with emotion regulation
- Improve memory
- Support healthy aging
- Lower blood pressure
- Improve metabolism
- Improve brain health
- Stress management
- Decrease inflammation
Mindfulness Meditation Workshop for Beginners
Mindful Moms
Join me for a beginners workshop where we explore what mindfulness is and what it is not. Some people try to meditate and say they can't, when in reality they just did not experience the desired result. Mindfulness meditation is not about reaching a certain state of mind, it is being present to what is in the moment in a non-judgmental manner. It is about having an openness to, and an acceptance of the present moment, whether it is pleasant or unpleasant. This is a skill that takes time, consistence and patience to master. But when this skill is developed, you will notice that there is a calmness around you, and that the usual triggers don't have the same effect on you anymore, or that the things that used to stress you no longer have an effect. The Mindful Moms workshop is more focused on how to use mindfulness to navigate the emotional terrain, with an emphasis for compassion for your journey, and self-love practices. Along with motherhood comes guilt, stress, worry, anxiety or the feeling that you are not "good enough". I know, because I went through all that and was miserable, which was when I explored mindfulness and it worked wonders. Being a better mom does not only affect your child, it affects the people around you, and also generations to come, because when you change, people around you change too. Hope you can join me! Mindfulness for Teens- Workshops
Today’s youth are growing up in a world that is ever-changing, and an alarming number of teens are reporting increasing stress, uncertainty, depression and anxiety. For instance, 61% of college students in 2016 reported to have sought counseling for anxiety. Even young children report feeling stressed at school, with concerns ranging from bullying, inability to cope with academic rigor, fear of failure, to peer pressure. Teaching mindfulness to students is one way of equipping youth with empowering tools to better manage their experience. When the youth learn mindfulness skills, gain new insight into how they can more effectively navigate their inner world as well as the challenges of the outer world. Just like any other skill, it is learned faster when introduced at a younger age.
